Background:
Walt Disney's Cinderella (1950), one of Walt's all-time favorite films, is the retelling of a 17th-century fable about a poor stepdaughter who is transformed into a vision of beauty. Young Cinderella, mistreated by her nasty stepmother and unattractive stepsisters, dreams of one day attending the Prince's ball. The Prince pursues Cinderella as she rushes down the palace staircase. Unable to stop her, his only token from the night is a sparkling glass slipper left behind in Cinderella's haste. Without a name to guide him, the Prince and the Duke search far and wide throughout the kingdom for the elusive owner of the Glass Slipper.
